Paterson PSST April 2015

The scheduled CCC March meeting was cancelled by Daracon, after conferring with all the CCC members, on the basis they had no new presentations or information to convey. MCQAG in retrospect felt this was not in order since Daracon had not responded to questions raised at earlier meetings and had a list of questions from MCQAC  which MCQAC expected to be addressed at the scheduled March meeting. Daracon has subsequently replied by email to these questions and the following details two of our questions and Daracon’s response;

Q.4 Please provide copies of permits and approvals for the land clearing that has occurred in Lot 6 since December 2012 at the MCQ site.

Daracon’s Response: Legal advice is that Daracon is not in a position to provide this information at this time, but will be addressed in the EIS

It is our contention that the Environmental Impact Statement they are preparing for their State Significant Development Application is to identify issues and how they maybe addressed if their application is approved. The EIS does not absolve Daracon from their historical or current obligations under prevailing rules and regulations.

Q.5 Residents have recently noted full trucks (truck & dog tippers AHE and others) travelling to the quarry, please provide details of the material being received at the quarry; type, quantity, origin and intended use

Daracon’s Response: Legal advice is that Daracon is not in a position to provide this information at this time, but will be addressed in the EIS

Again we would say that this is happening now and does this action breach any current licence or regulation.

Community Survey

MCAG has developed an online survey to gather community attitudes and views in relation to the proposed Daracon Martins Creek Quarry Proposal.

The survey can be accessed via the MCQAG’s website on or around the third week of April. It is directed to all residents that live in areas around the quarry site but also along the transport route: Martins Creek, Vacy, Gresford, Paterson, Bolwarra, Bolwarra Heights, Lorn, Duns Creek, Brandy Hill and Wallalong.

The survey should only take about 15 minutes to complete. We have also provided an opportunity for you to note your contact details should you wish to receive further information about the quarry proposal
